This lovely necklace seems almost too beautiful to wear~ I totally would, though!
Or there’s the black option…just as gorgeous, but a bit more dark and mysterious~
Or this last one, I also love!

I really like and admire this trend: “real” people as models (which is not to imply that models aren’t people or aren’t real)
But it’s refreshing to see a company step back from the photoshop; and for me, personally, makes it easier to see how I would wear items.
Something that makes this pendant really special? It’s made from ethically sourced materials~
Just really, really lovely.
Like all those who need a hand getting dressed, I keep a file of style inspiration. Mine is on the computer. But lately, it’s gotten a little big and bulky. So in the interest of slimming down, and actually being able to find the image I’m looking for occasionally, I’m going to clean it the heck out. Here are some of the not-quite-keepers:
It’s very…cute. And girly. But it’s absolutely wrong for my closet. Why did I even save it; was there a project in the works?? Delete.
I honestly think I saved this just because I liked her expression.
I have a million pics of ladies dressed all in black. How much “dread pirate roberts” inspiration does one woman need? Out it goes.
It must have been the hat. Because I sure didn’t save this one for the mustard colored pants. There couldn’t possibly be a color that would look worse on me!
Wait, is that…a romper? Ooooh, dear. I’ll just delete this quietly. Let us never speak of this again~
56 images later…oh yeah, empty the recycling bin. Spring cleaning; check!
Tune in next time for a peek at the stuff I kept~ the best of the style file~
This winter’s been a season of storms here in Chicagoland. Thank goodness it’ll be over soon. Right?! Soon???
So my favorite things of winter? Lots of warm~
1. Land’s End Coat: Let’s face it, you need a puffer coat up here, frostbite is not a good look for anyone. But it’s nice to have on that’s not the ubiquitous black that I see on everyone else~
2. Born Boots: These I got years ago, they’re lined in flannel and so warm!
3. Gold Owl Earrings: I inherited these from my grandmother. Adorable gold owl studs~
4. My crockpot and this recipe~
5. Cozy foxy flannel pajamas. (No idea where these came from, they were a gift.) Toasty warm!
So I’m finally a) back from visiting my wonderful family in Texas and b) over the terrible airport-flu I caught. (I’ll spare you the horrible travel details, suffice it to say that my flying experience was everything you could dread and then some~)
However, it was all worth it because … I brought magnificent stuff back with me from lovely (mostly) sunny Texas:
My new belt~
I searched all over for a belt like this last year and the year before, only to have everything be sold out! So how lucky was I to find it in an antique store outside of Austin? Pretty darn lucky~
My awesome brother got me this fan for christmas. It’s gorgeous!
I’m going to have to figure out how to display it properly (more on that later) but it was the cutest present~
The snow days of winter have certainly been hitting us hard in Chicagoland! In between intense winter storms, freezing rain, and snow-packed streets, I haven’t had much time to think about style, fashion or much else besides surviving the drive to work~
So I’m definitely feeling the need for a little mid-winter inspiration. January is all about urban layers~
Oh WOW. I need these all. BECAUSE. REASONS!
These are so beautiful I am literally struggling to find words to convey how wonderful they are! Have a closer look at the jewels in the rings. (they have tiny tiny cities inside them~)
Remember the bridal necklace I made for my friend H? Here’s the latest update on her bridesmaids jewelry: I finished three bracelets, all white moonstone and silver spacers, with colored pearl or citrine accents.
H’s wedding colors are blue and yellow, and her flowers are going to have a mix of different hues. So for the jewelry, each piece is unique and the jewels range in tone from pale yellow to sunny yellow to peach yellow. There will be five necklace/bracelet sets in all, for five wonderful bridesmaids~ (What a thoughtful gift, H!)
September is all about the remix! Pattern, texture, hue: mix it up~ let’s see the unexpected…
So here’s what’s inspiring me:
This month is going to be very creative~
