A Note About Stationary

It’s so important in life to count your blessings, and be thankful for the good things.  And for when you want to express that thanks?  Here’s a selection of unique thank you cards which gives your gratitude a touch of whimsy.

Something a little retro from Little Spark Creations:

Some nautical rhyming thanks from Oriolechic1:

How about something a little more colorful from artistscs28?

Cute Thing of the Week

Filed under: Uncategorized — by twistedchic @ 11:32 pm

The weather is really starting to warm up now, despite a wet and windy start.  That’s why I’m loving this coral tank by Leanne Marshall:

It’s light and airy, but so fun.  And I love the color!

Color Palette: White

Filed under: Uncategorized — by twistedchic @ 4:28 am

A minimalist white look is classic and cool; and this color palette is my prediction for the next big spring/summer trend.  If you want to give this trend a try, consider popping a few new pieces into your fashion rotation.

Like this easy silk dress by Anna Sui:

Which would look great with this soft, drapey Michael Kors cardigan:

For a great accent piece, try this assymetrical lace and pearl necklace from Littlewhitedresser:

And of course no outfit is finished without a great purse, like this roomy Paul & Joe tote:

The key to making this color palette work is to wear pieces with clean lines and mixed textures.  Putting in pieces with unusual details will keep it from being boring.   Just make sure you’re not all in white from head to toe (or people may think you have a wedding fetish, not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

Designer to Watch

Filed under: Uncategorized — by twistedchic @ 4:31 pm

French & Brazilian designer Anne Fontaine (warning musical website) began her career designing impeccable white shirts.  Now she has stores worldwide, proving that you can’t go wrong with a perfectly constructed basic.  Her design aesthetic is very feminine and ethereal, with unexpectedly playful details.  Like this black and white dress with a ruffle detail.

No link for you!

Or this classic white shirt with an unexpected stripe:

And lest you think she can’t handle a little color, how about this colorful pink cardigan?

In her own words, she truly has a standard for style: “Natural beauty…simplicity. For me style is in the impact of the details. I put the accent on one detail, be it a great blouse or a fantastic piece of jewelry– I let that detail make my style statement.”

WTF Gladiator Sandals

Filed under: Uncategorized — by twistedchic @ 4:12 am

Gladiator Sandals.  I know they are very fashionable right now.  But the truth is, they’re kind of ridiculous.  And no one actually looks good in them.

Heidi Klum couldn't make these look good.

My advice?  Just say no to gladiator sandals.  10 years from now we’ll all look back and say “what were we thinking with those things?”  Remember stretch stirrup pants?  Yeah, just like that.

Admit it, you had a pair.

I have been loving this jungle-inspired bracelet by Bimba&Lola:

See the tiny rhino?

Beautiful colors, intriguing print, whimsical details, what more could you ask for?  Well, I could ask them to have a store a little closer to me, the nearest one is in the UK!

Fun With Names

Filed under: Uncategorized — by twistedchic @ 8:42 pm

I ran across this skirt while looking for some easy embellishments for a skirt I am constructing:

It’s a beautiful skirt, sexy knit and dark blue.  And the best part?  The name of the designer: Pleasure Doing Business.  I like it!

I just found out that my favorite stylist, Jeannie Mai, is also a big fan of my favorite jacket!  Remember the gorgeous Burberry Leather Jacket Trench?  I covet this piece, but lack the funds to aquire it, alas!

Much love for this coat!

It turns out that Jeannie is also a fan, and she was featured wearing it in an article. (Top Right)  Two things I love together in print.  Hmmm…

Cute Thing of the Week

I’ve really been feeling the black and white vibe lately, they look so crisp and classic together.  And I love this Herve Leger zip front skirt.

That zipper goes aaaaaall the way up.

Of course, keeping it clean would be problematic.  But who cares?  It’s beautiful!

This spring the weather has been super windy!  Which is trouble when you wear skirts/dresses as much as I do.  All I can say is: coordination.

For this DVF dress

I would pair with this VPL set:

This Miu Miu dress:

Would like fab paired with these Stella McCartney briefs:

And with this wild DVF print dress:

Why not have fun with these VS briefs:

This style is surprisingly comfortable!
